Airous sat by the edge of the black lake looking into its waters. He really didnt talk to many people at the school. He only did if he had to in class but other than that he sat alone in the common room, the great hall, and in classes.
Once again he found himself out past curfew, enjoying the nights air and the quitness of hogwarts grounds. He liked sitting here alone. Though he had thought that maybe one day he could enjoy the fresh night breeze with someone he could call....friend.
Airous stared down into his own reflection. He hated the feeling of being alone. He wondered why he wasn't so....socail. Airous knew the answer to that. He pulled his knees to his chest amd sighed.
Airous blinked when a shadow crossed his path, to big to be a animal.

Nathaniel Longbottom slept pretty well the other night what surprised him. He usually had bad dreams at night. Maybe it was because he could be miserable about his life at Hogwarts. Yes, he loved that school, it was like other home to many including Nate. But he was rather one of those weak kids everyone liked to bully or laugh at. He was so unfortunate and clumsy sometimes. Even the great stairs seemed to like making fun of him, not to mention school poltergeist, Peeves. Nate was mostly like his father in his younger years at Hogwarts. Some people really made him embarrassed or scared. And there was one other thing about him that 'helped' with being some students' punching bag, his looks. Not only Nathaniel looked younger as he was short for his age and thin with baby face and piercing blue eyes but he also behaved younger and not only because of his bad luck. He actually preferred the way he was so slow with puberty because it gave him time for innocent fun, to understand everything in his own pace. He thought he had time to grow up yet and worry about his future and all this adulthood. Secretly he wanted to be like his older brother, fearless, with good sense of humour, some of a prankster to protect himself from bullies, comfortable and confident around girls. But he was mostly the school dork and everyone's punching bag. He knew it was going to end someday, maybe when he grows tall like his father and brother, maybe when he finally decides to put a stop to this shit or maybe he needed a good push or a meaningful occurrence to happen. He really had to stop being so shy, get more confidence and courage because it would be easier for him to live. He was a nice guy, never wanted to hurt anybody. Maybe he wasn't as cool as other students were and he needed guardian angels here and there but there was no reason not to like him. If you knew him well that was because otherwise you could think he was boring and stupid. Yes, he was a bit silly about things but it didn't mean he was a moron. Even though he was lazy when it came to homework or studying he seemed to study more than people around him. It was just his luck that he kept forgetting simple things even with a good memory and vivid imagination. He just preferred to think of other things and they always flooded his mind instead of for example a proper spell to fix an armour he broke.
Tonight he wanted to sleep well too but some students that claimed to be his bullies, planned something different. They dragged him out to the grounds and hung him on the branch of one of the trees by his robes. It was close to curfew when little Nate finally touched the ground again or rather fell down as his robes tore apart after his long attempts to let go. But everything would be alright if he landed on his feet and then ran back up to the castle. His bad luck wanted different. He lost his balance and rolled down the hill towards the black lake. "Ugh." escaped his mouth when he finally stopped. A little beaten and dirty Nathaniel braced on his hands in attempt to get up.

Airous had heard the sound of fabric ripping from afar but didn't think much of it. Suddenly the shadow behind him seemed to be getting taller fast. He watched the shadow on the ground wondering what was coming towards him so quickly. He turned his head around just as a boy, who had been rolling down the hill hit him.
Airous felt gravity loosen for a split second as he was projected into the black lake. He came back to the surface world coughing slightly and spitting out water.
Airous climbed out of the lake soaking wet. He took off his heavy cloak and shoes, sitting them on the grass to dry. He then looked at the boy. He was angry at first but then he started to laugh. Airous held out his hand to help the boy up.
"you just have to ask to be my friend. Though that was a introduction that i will never forget." he said gently and smiled.

It didn't surprise him much. He was used to other students bullying him around the castle. They found him weak and an easy target which he was because he hardly stood up for himself if ever. Of course there were many students that protected him - his family and family friends that became his family too. Many people just found him adorable and didn't understand why one would like to hurt the boy. He didn't understand it either. Not that he found himself adorable, no, but he couldn't get how cruel people could be just to have some fun. There were many other things you could do for fun without harming anyone. But maybe it was boring for those bullies.
It wasn't the nicest of his experiences but he could end up worse, right? He hit something hard. He realized it was somebody not something when he heard a splash and then coughing. Still on the ground he looked up to see who has been shoved into the water by him. It was a complete accident but he had a feeling that whoever it was would be mad at him. He tried to get up again even though his left hand hurt. He must have hit something else on the way down. He heard a boyish laugh and seconds after he was helped up and stood on his feet. He blinked twice to adjust his sight to the building darkness around them. He looked at the other boy's face and recognized him as his house mate. He's seen him around. He didn't look much older than him. Actually he didn't look older at all but he certainly wasn't a 4th year as Nate knew all his Hufflepuff yearmates well. "Um... thanks." Nathaniel said first. "And I'm sorry. Unfortunate event." he explained giving the older boy a sheepish smile. He realized he was dirty so he brushed himself off. It didn't help much but the other boy was soaking wet, he had worse. He could get a cold or something. "My name is Nate, Nate Longbottom."

When Airous had helped the kid up he noticed that he seemed dazed. "You alright?" he asked gently noticing that his hands where covered in mud and he had a few scraps on his arm. "What where you doing in the tree?" he asked looking over, noticing that the branch from the tree had snapped and was now dangling limply from the tree.
Airous watched as the boy dusted himself off. Though the dirt still seemed to cling to him. "It's alright. It was a nice...bath..." he shrugged in a joking manner. "Airous Fai." he said introducing himself and reaching his hand out to shake the boys. Though his hand and arm where soaking wet so he awkwardly pulled it back knowing that the boy probably didn't want to get soaked to the bone as well.
Airous recognized the kid that was always being picked on by older students. e wondered why they liked to pick on him so much and why the kid never seemed to fight back. Maybe he just needed a body guard, or a older student to watch his back. "So...." he said blinking a few ties, trying to make conversation with the boy. Though the boy looked like he was ready to bolt and hide.
