Zacky walked into Hogsmeade, heading towards The Three Broomsticks, intending to get a drink. He opened the door and stepped inside. It was unusually quiet today. Shrugging, Zacky headed for his usual seat in the corner of the pub. "A Butterbeer, please." His drink arrived and he took a sip, looking around at his surroundings as he did so. Nobody significant around. Sighing, Zacky turned back to his drink.
Thoughts of his father came into mind. When he was younger, his father used to bring him into Hogsmeade on weekends, and they always visited The Three Broomsticks. After his father had passed away, his mother had been sent to Azkaban, and Zacky was forced to come down to The Three Broomsticks on his own. He wondered why his family had to be split up, unlike others'. He felt that it was so unfair.
Unwelcome memories started flooding his mind.He remembered the times he had spent with his parents. Times that he would cherish for a very long time. He remembered staring at his father's dead body. He remembered the look of anguish on his mother's face, and her terrified expression when she was taken away to Azkaban. He missed them. A feeling of loneliness and depression overcame him. He hated this feeling of despair and sadness. Oh, how he hated it. "No, I mustn't entertain such thoughts." Shaking his head clear, downed his drink and ordered another. While waiting for his next drink, he turned around and looked at the door, wondering if anybody else would come down to The Three Broomsticks today.

The cold metal sent a shocking chill through Marina’s body. She had her hand on the door handle, just about to scurry inside the Three Broomsticks. The frigid Slytherin girl observed her wrists for a moment before quickly shoving them back in her pockets. It appeared her new cuts were turning a dark purple with the cold, how peculiar. This was the first time Marina had actually allowed herself to go out in public without first healing herself. Wasn’t that the whole point of her twisted ritual? She would draw a just a bit of blood, enough to cause her some pain. Once the adrenaline kicked in she would quickly cast a healing spell to make the cuts disappear. No scars meant there was no guilt, and no embarrassment if anyone happened to catch sight of her wrists. It was her own pathetic way of proving she could still feel the pain. Who she was proving it to, well Marina had no idea. This was perhaps why she found it so difficult to enter the Three Broomsticks on this cold, blustery day; that, or the fact that she was afraid of running into someone she knew.
Marina came to an agreement with herself. She decided that today, her solo visits to the three broomsticks would have to come to an end. It was awful, to think she might actually be enjoying herself at this dump!? She couldn’t stand the crowds and the smell, oh it was just horrible. This is the last time I’ll visit here. After today, I’ll have to find a new spot to hangout in Hogsmeade. Why did she even bother going there in the first place? Perhaps it was the chance she stumbled upon someone such as the young man sitting before her . He was the first thing that caught her eye as she strutted through the doors. Zacky Shadows. Pfft, look at him. “You’ve got quite the death grip.” She motioned toward his butterbeer, his fingers were practically fastened to the handle. Marina sat down happily beside him. He was the last person she’d expected to see here; quite a pleasant surprise really. “So, how have you been Z?”

A beautiful young lady opened the door, and sat next to Zacky.Marina Dolohov. "Ah, Rina. Pretty good, it's just the old memories coming back to haunt me again. You know, my dad and mum." Zacky took a sip of his Butterbeer. Marina was his best friend, she understood him like no one had. When his father had died, she was there for him, despite him not willing to open up to her at the start. Soon enough though, they became close friends, although recently hadn't been chatting for a while.
"Say, do you remember how we met?It was that time not long after my mum's incident, you found me just staring into space, sitting on the steps. Thinking back, bet you thought I looked like a dick, didn't you?" Zacky smiled and laughed at the thought. He and Marina were completely like each other, they both hated Muggles and Muggle-borns, both of them had insecurities that they refused to show others and tried hard to hide.
Marina had been a tough nut to crack as well, it wasn't till Zacky had told her about his problems before she had been willing to share hers. Zacky hadn't expected a girl like her, to have problems as well. Well, I was quite stupid last time.He thought.I've matured since then, no longer the weakling I once was. "So anyway Rina, how are you? I haven't seen you around school lately. I miss hanging out with you." Zacky said, and downed his Butterbeer again as he did. "Hang on a minute, what's that on your wrists?"
